Raffles
I buy raffle tickets on the street all the time, I fact I have a rule that I never pass them by, unless I'm really late or something. Its my little thing to help the community seeing as how I'm way to lazy to get off my A$^*( and actuallyy do something. As I buy them I always hope that I don't win. Its a kind of "If I win this I might win the cancer lottery too" (or whaterver paranoia has taken over my life at that particular time, could be the plane might crash or there might be a flu epidemic or anything) - I don't really want to be lucky in any of those lotteries

Lost tree fern,Bonfire, pruning Feijoas, New Glasses strawberries and a reunion
1 June 2013
3 Jun 2013
Late autumn bonfire in a warm wintery sun. Kids had disappeared inside but we enjoyed the warmth and got lots of vitamin B. I tried to persuade the others that we should be having a wine but they resisted as they were driving home. I abstained.
6 Jun 2013
Ed started pruning the Feijoa tree and I experimented with the panorama setting on my phone camera. Ed decided they needed severe pruning this year as they are getting too bushy and we have hardly had any feijoas for a couple of years. It is a spectacular prune - well we'll see how they go. They are pretty tough I think they will survive.
8 June 2013
Robyn Harris-Isles came up to stay with Sonya for a while so we went round for a dinner and some preloading and then went off to see Rick Bryant.
It is so good to catch uo with Robyn and always interesting to see that no matter what ravages of time are inflicted on the body, the essence of who we are remains constant.
Do you remember this curious photo of a tree fern seemingly in flower from a couple of weeks ago? We planted it about 4 years ago and it was just getting to a nice size.
Weeeellllll. Ed parked his little Nanna car by the back door. After some time we went outside to find it had rolled back down the drive. Fortunately something had stopped it from actually going down the bank..... Yes it was the tree fern Completely broken off at the base.
.
This is the second time Ed has done this. The last one was with my Mum's Triumph Toledo fairly soon after we arrived - we were still staying inthe barn. Only that did go much further down the bank and we had to get a tow truck out to haul it back up.

Sick Old Sox and Reps Behaving badly
Sox feeling very sorry for himself after he had his eye sewn up at the vets again. He often gets ulcers in his eye and they are buggers to heal. Nothing very serious but he looks so cute snuggled up in front of the fire.

Reps at Leigh. Another great gig. They were naughty boys after though. Seems Dave and others were creating chaos in the bunkroom so that other guests refused to pay. Reps had to reimburse the sawmill. Oooops hope they haven't blotted their copybook there
Rats
15th May 2013 Rat plague
We seem to have a plague of rats. Last night The Attic Tribe, who seem to be bait resistant, held a bait banquet above our bed followed by a few rounds of the highland fling. The lowlanders however are not so resistant and have decided the inaccessible gap under the bathroom sink is a good place to die. So its prancing in the attic and ponging on theground floorj28th May 2013 Winter arrives with a bang
Suddenly its freezing and hail is sitting in the paddock instead of melting almost immediately as it usually does

| Gordon and wendy cut down the macrocarpa around their house. Apparently there was an accident where a tree fell on the workers ute, narrowly missing the house. |
